Blue Star Lubrication Technology (“Blue Star”) has been sold to DuBois Chemicals, Inc.  Stevenson & Company was the exclusive sale advisor to Blue Star.

Blue Star, located in Schaumburg, IL, was founded 10 years ago with the unique business model of providing high levels of technology with superior customer service to the lubricants industry.  The success was premised on an “asset light” structure using outside toll suppliers to manufacture its products assuring that the optimal process could be selected for each product and not compromised by the limitations of a captive manufacturing installation. Blue Star provides a differentiated line of high performance lubricants and greases along with metal working fluids and rust preventives to industrial users across the United States and Canada.  Blue Star’s customers participate in the steel, automotive, mining, aerospace and metal fabrication industries.

DuBois Chemicals, headquartered in Cincinnati, OH and founded in 1920, is a full service specialty chemical company that develops, manufactures and supports a broad range of applications. Among DuBois’ wide range of products are metal cleaners, rust inhibitors, machining fluids, lubricants and paint pretreatment chemicals.  DuBois serves a number of industrial end markets including motor vehicles & parts, electrical enclosures, heavy construction equipment, farming and agriculture equipment, military and general metal fabrication.

The addition of Blue Star’s high performance lubricant line is very complementary and synergistic to DuBois with significant cross selling opportunities, broadening the product line and bringing greater value to both companies’ customers.
