Stevenson & Company completes the sale of Prism Retail Services

Stevenson & Company recently completed the sale of Prism Retail Services located in Itasca, Illinois, to Footprint Retail Services, a portfolio company of Chicago Growth Partners. The combination creates a national, full-service retail merchandising platform.  Prism Retail Services provides in-store merchandising services to leading retailers and consumer brands throughout the United States. Its services include new store set-up, store remodels, category resets and new product cut-ins. Prism has over 3,000 employees and a 17-year track record of providing high-quality in-store services to its clients.

Stevenson identified Footprint as an attractive suitor as it provided complementary services to retailers and consumer product companies and was interested in growing its merchandising platform. The combined company now offers a full spectrum of in-store services, from light merchandising to installation of complex fixtures to complete new store set-up. It also expands its list of blue-chip customers and retail channels served. Management believes there is tremendous opportunity to cross-sell services to existing clients as well as expand its customer base by leveraging a unique, turnkey service offering.

This transaction accomplished the objectives of both parties. It provides an exit plan for the founder while positioning his team and the combined business for continued growth. The existing management team will continue to run the day-to-day operations and help integrate Prism Retail Services into the Footprint organization.
