Stevenson completes Sale of Phoenix Electric Manufacturing Company

Result:    Business Sold to Financial Buyer

Industry: Manufacturing — Electric Motor Industry

Phoenix Electric Manufacturing Company (Phoenix Electric) was sold to North Park Group (NPG), a Chicago based private family office. Stevenson & Company was the exclusive sale advisor to Phoenix.

Phoenix Electric is a niche manufacturer of carbon brush holders used in electric motors and generators. It offers the widest range of styles, sizes and material choices to OEM motor manufactures with over 300 active SKU’s.  Founded in 1938, the company is based in Chicago, IL and has over 30 employees.  The company’s branded products are trusted and recognized throughout the industry.  Its extensive tooling and “print position” provide high barriers to entry.

North Park Group is a private family office investment group focused on acquiring and operating US based manufacturing and distribution businesses.

John Bank, CEO of Phoenix Electric, remarked “We are excited about the acquisition by North Park Group.  They have the same core values regarding employees, customers and suppliers that my brother, Doug and I have embraced over the years.  We are confident that the business will continue to grow and prosper.  The guidance that Stevenson & Company provided was critical to selling our business.  They were able to identify a diverse group of potential buyers and articulate the unique characteristics of our business.  We enjoyed working with the Stevenson team and pleased that we selected them as our advisor.”
