Stevenson & Company facilitated the sale of Westwind International and Westwind Maritime International, headquartered near Chicago, IL, to Unitrans International, a portfolio company of Palm Beach Capital.
Founded in 1980, Westwind serves customers globally with international freight forwarding, customs brokerage and compliance services. It specializes in freight movements to countries with complex customs regulations or limited infrastructures. Its expertise helps serve clients in the healthcare, technology and defense industries.
Stevenson & Company identified Unitrans International as a strategic buyer looking to grow its logistics services and geographic platform. Unitrans International Corporation’s president, Andrew Schadegg, states: “We see substantial long-term opportunity as shippers increasingly look to logistics providers to provide not only tailored logistics but also comprehensive compliance services. Together, Unitrans and Westwind will be in a strong competitive position to capitalize on opportunities in international trade”.
