Stevenson completes sale of Material Handling Systems, a division of FMC Technologies
Result: Business Sold to Strategic Buyer
Industry: Engineered Solutions – Bulk Material Handling Systems
FMC Technologies (NYSE: FTI) has divested its Material Handling Systems business (MHS), headquartered in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, to Tenova TAKRAF, a global leader in mining and bulk handling equipment. Stevenson & Company advised FMC Technologies on the sale.
For over 100 years, MHS has been a global leader in providing bulk material handling solutions to a variety of industries including mining, minerals, power and food. The Business provides systems expertise by engineering, procuring, and construction (EPC) of complete bulk material handling systems for customers. It also provides a line of proprietary equipment for rotary drying and cooling of various bulk materials. From large coal-fired power generating stations to above ground mining and material processing plants, the Business is widely known for its engineering solutions for efficient and dependable operations. The Business markets on a global basis with installations worldwide including Chile, China, India and Australia.
Stevenson & Company was retained as exclusive sale advisor to FMC Technologies. Stevenson identified, evaluated and marketed the business to a targeted group of strategic buyers. TAKRAF’s focus on the mining and minerals industries and worldwide footprint made them a particularly well suited buyer of the business. The transaction allows the MHS business to accelerate its growth plans while allowing FMC Technologies to exit the business and focus on its core interests. This marks the tenth business that Stevenson & Company has sold for FMC.
